Fukushima Conjuration by artserge Fukushima Conjuration by artserge
A3, rotring pen and ink on paper
for best view please zoom in

As the embodiment of writhing alien power is conjured from the Earth's depths, an ominous shadow is cast across the barren land heading towards the outlying towns of Fukushima Daiichi power plant.

This was selected as a winner in the Outsidein national competition and will be on tour with the exhibition for 2013. a DD, thats really cool to find out. It's really most appreciated. Joy!.....

I really really love this! Are those people made out of roots/ tree stumps? Or are those just folds? Because I really really am inspired to make a piece with like evil dryads now, but I don't know if that is quite what you are depicting here/ if I should give you credit

Hi there, thanks for the compliment. I kind of wanted it to be both folds and a bit rooty too, to tie in with the stumps n the back ground. But as far as the concept goes, i dont think anyone ever has a truly original idea, as long as its not conciuosly imitating just go for it.

I like how the ultra dense forgrond contrasts with the much simpler background.

Thanks a lot, i did a lot of thumbnail sketches for this, as i normally overload the detail on my pictures.
